Alexia Burns

Alexia Burns

Since 2005 Alexia Burns has tackled the end-of-life problem surrounding electronic waste. Until 2010 Alexia was focused mainly on the reuse solution. She said, "It was a great option for keeping older electronics in circulation and out of the landfill."

With her focus expanded to recycling, for two consecutive years, from 2012-14, she successfully certified her employer's company in R2 2008, ISO 14001, and RIOS (recycling company certification standards) as the Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety Director. Soon after this success and with the thanks of her previous employer, Alexia Burns went on to open her own electronics recycling center. Since May of 2015 she has been the proud owner and President of Colorado based CORRecycling, Inc., your local electronics recycling and data destruction facility.

Alexia Burns has always had a passion for the environment and education. Formerly, an assistant teacher at HeadStart, as well as a mother of four teenagers, Alexia states that, "I believe that life should be treated as an evolution, not a revolution. Therefore, in order to ensure a sustainable planet for the future we must continue to educate and prepare our children for an ever changing world."
